Yes, it is possible to stretch a canvas on an already stretched canvas frame. This process is known as re-stretching and involves removing the existing canvas from the frame and replacing it with a new canvas. It is a common practice for artists who want to reuse a frame for a new artwork or for conservators who need to replace a damaged canvas. However, it is important to ensure that the frame is in good condition and suitable for re-stretching before attempting this process. **

It is generally not necessary to tighten a pre-stretched canvas, as it should already be stretched and primed for painting. However, if you notice any sagging or slackness in the canvas, you can use canvas keys (small wooden wedges) to tighten the canvas by inserting them into the corners of the frame and tapping them gently with a hammer. This can help to adjust the tension of the canvas and remove any slackness. Just be careful not to over-tighten the canvas, as this can cause it to warp or crack. **

Yes, it is possible to not erase a pencil on a stretched canvas by using light, gentle strokes when sketching out the initial drawing. This will minimize the visibility of the pencil marks and make it easier to cover them with paint. Additionally, using a kneaded eraser or a soft brush to gently lift off any excess graphite can help to reduce the visibility of the pencil marks without completely erasing them. Finally, using a light-colored ground or underpainting can also help to minimize the appearance of pencil marks on the canvas. **

To safely transport paintings that are stretched on canvas and have a size of 60 x 80 x 5 cm, you should first wrap the painting in acid-free paper to protect the surface. Then, place the painting between two pieces of foam board or cardboard to provide support and prevent bending. Secure the package with bubble wrap or foam padding and place it in a sturdy cardboard box. Make sure the box is labeled as fragile and consider adding "Do Not Bend" stickers to alert handlers. Finally, transport the painting in a vehicle where it won't be jostled or exposed to extreme temperatures. **

The size of the canvas for a painting would depend on the subject matter, style, and where the painting will be displayed. For a detailed landscape or portrait, a larger canvas might be more suitable to capture intricate details. On the other hand, a smaller canvas could be more appropriate for a still life or abstract piece. It's important to consider the intended viewing distance and the impact you want the painting to have on the viewer when deciding on the canvas size. **
